SALT welcomes the latest report on 1+2 language learning in Scotland released by the Association of Directors of Education in Scotland.
It is great to see the diversity of languages being offered in our schools for young people. Further support and clarity around training for primary teachers is still a big concern with many different models being used across the country. Transitions from primary to secondary are still a big issue and prior learning is not always taken into account.
We look forward to working with all stakeholders to further enhance the provision of learning and teaching of modern languages in all of our educational establishments.
