Something big is afoot! Get out your phone/diary/post it note and save the date, Saturday 1st October will see the first #PedagooMuckle event.
Pedagoo and TeachMeet are grassroots, not for profit movements that are for teachers by teachers. They aim to encourage educators to learn from each other and share what goes on in real classrooms everyday.
Supported by SCEL and with a slightly different format, #PedagooMuckle aims to support, challenge and encourage participants to go forth and organise their own Pedagoo events, TeachMeets and other collaborative, sharing opportunities for educators.
The organisers are using the Scots word ‘muckle’ because they are hoping the event will have a BIG impact on teachers across Scotland, motivating and supporting them to take a risk and lead an event in the next year.
Previous Pedagoo Events have been all about sharing what they do, while sharing will be essential at #PedagooMuckle it will be focused on two questions:
The morning will involve learning conversations and a muckle TeachMeet with a chance to answer the questions ‘WHY Pedagoo & TeachMeet’.
The afternoon session will focus on building a tool kit on how to run an event in the future.
At the end of the day everyone will be asked to make a #PedagooPledge, a promise to run an event within the next year.
This not for profit event will be held in Society M, Glasgow, an inspiring venue that the organisers hope will encourage creative conversations. There will be a small cost of £10 for the day which will include lunch.
General sign up is now open! There is a small charge of £10 for all attending, this includes lunch.
