Stòrlann has announced that three Barrington Stoke titles have been translated into Gaelic for pupils aged 7-9: Banana Mhozart by Gillian Cross, Cho Tapaidh ’s a tha Siud by Anne Fine, and Dihaoine gu Bràth by Annie Dalton.
Contexts match the interest and reading age of pupils, text is printed on thick, matt paper and a plain font is used for ease of reading.
Stòrlann was established by the Scottish Executive in 1999 to co-ordinate the production and distribution of curriculum resources for Gaelic education.
Under Stòrlann’s publication programme, resources are distributed free of charge to nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools and lifelong learning groups every year. Priorities are set by teaching staff and learners and strategic planning and implementation is supported by local authorities through the MRG consortium, and by appropriate lifelong learning organisations.
