Read on for a special message from Sylvain Blanche, Associate Lecturer in Languages at Edinburgh Napier University
Dear Language Colleagues,
Building on the success of the first two issues of Worldwide Napier, our magazine in foreign languages, we are, for our next issue, calling for submissions about the cultural concepts of “attachment” and “detachment”, i.e. the emotional connection one may have with a place, a period of time, a person, what makes someone nostalgic (or not).
As per usual, the article(s) will be written in one the following languages your students are currently studying: French, German, Italian or Spanish.
Regarding secondary schools, for the senior pupils who are willing to contribute, we would be more than happy to set up a buddy scheme if they wish: one of our Edinburgh Napier students would work closely with them in the writing process.
The students are also free to write about any other topic. And any submitted article can be written collaboratively (e.g. by more than one author).
The article(s) will be published if we consider that they have reached our quality standards. The submission deadline is the 1 March 2019.
We would be extremely grateful if you could spread the word to your cohort. If they are interested, want to know more about the project and/or are not sure about the relevance of their idea for their article, please let them know to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Previous issues are still available in digital form:
We look forward to hearing from you.
